CISAM-Ernst TWIN-X – automatic Rockwell hardness tester for production lines
Applications
For fully automated Rockwell and Super Rockwell hardness testing on production lines where throughput matters. The vertical axis movement and load application are controlled by a stepper motor; the removable measuring head allows the instrument to be integrated into the line’s control system. With the spindle unit removed, large parts – moulds, castings – can be tested.
Key features
- Cycle time < 1.5 s (as stated by the manufacturer); the spring system saves up to 10 s per cycle
- Test speed, according to the manufacturer, 5 times higher than systems with load cells
- Fully automatic control of the vertical axis and load by a stepper motor
- A safety device retracts the indenter if the part is misaligned or a foreign object is present
- The clamping shield allows overhanging parts to be tested without external support
- Memory for 400 files (code, customer, scale, tolerances), 5 tolerance zones for serial inspection
