Helmut Fischer SIGMASCOPE GOLD B / GOLD C – gold authenticity testing by conductivity

Applications

Handheld instruments for the gold and precious metals industry – non-destructive authenticity testing of bars, coins and large jewellery within a few seconds, even through plastic packaging. Conductivity measurement detects inclusions of the same density (tungsten) that a density test does not reveal; complements Fischer XRF instruments.

Key features

  • GOLD B: bars from ~1 oz (31.1 g) to 1 kg, thickness up to 17 mm
  • GOLD C: coins and bars up to ~100 g; recognises Krugerrands and ducats by their conductivity
  • Measurement through non-conductive coatings and foil
  • Variable penetration depth according to the thickness of the object
  • High-contrast touchscreen, USB, acoustic signal
  • Probes and reference standards for coins and bars

Models

SIGMASCOPE GOLD B (bars; 100, 500, 1,000 Hz); SIGMASCOPE GOLD C (coins; 15, 30, 60, 120 kHz)
