Helmut Fischer COULOSCOPE CMS2 / CMS2 STEP – coulometric metallic coating thickness gauge

Applications

A benchtop instrument for measuring the thickness of almost all single-layer and multilayer metallic coatings on metallic and non-metallic substrates by anodic stripping – an accurate and less expensive alternative to X-ray fluorescence when coatings are too thick for XRF. The CMS2 STEP additionally measures electrochemical potentials in multilayer nickel to assess corrosion behaviour.

Key features

  • Almost 100 predefined measuring applications (e.g. Zn on Fe, Ni on brass)
  • Colour display with graphical guidance and voltage curve display
  • Adjustable stripping rate 0.1–50 µm/min
  • STEP test: layer thickness and potential differences in one measurement (CMS2 STEP)
  • Stands and measuring cells for different samples, wide range of accessories
  • Memory for 3,000 readings in 50 applications, USB

Models

COULOSCOPE CMS2; COULOSCOPE CMS2 STEP (potential measurement, adjustable stripping current, automatic conditioning of the silver electrode)
