Foerster MAGNATEST D – automatic hardness and structure testing

Applications

The world’s most widely used magnetic induction system for 100 % testing of hardness, hardening depth, structure and material grades in series production, especially in the automotive industry. The single-coil absolute mode needs no reference coil; the MULTIPLEXER allows work with several coils.

Key features

  • Load-independent, current-controlled induction (up to 4 A / 36 V) – constant field strength
  • Single- and multi-frequency excitation, harmonic analysis (up to the 11th harmonic at ≤ 8 kHz) reduces the influence of temperature and position
  • Sorting thresholds: circle, ellipse, rectangle, box regression; 6 definable, 8 sorting groups
  • TFT touchscreen, statistics, histograms, data export, connection to QM systems
  • 8 galvanically isolated inputs and outputs; serial, 3 × USB, 2 × Ethernet, DisplayPort

Models

4 HU housing (177 × 481 × 410 mm, ~18 kg); 6 HU (289 × 463 × 449 mm, ~19.3 kg); MAGNATEST D MULTIPLEXER; adapter for two-coil differential mode; MAGNATEST D-HZP for semi-finished products

Technical data

  • Frequency: 2 Hz–128 kHz, 17 steps
  • Throughput: ~10 parts/s at 1 kHz
  • Triggering: manual, external, internal, cross, sequential
  • Evaluation: fundamental; harmonics up to the 11th (≤ 8 kHz)
  • Operating temperature: 0…+50 °C; humidity 8–80 %
