{"id":201,"count":0,"description":"X-ray fluorescence analysis (XRF) is a non-destructive method for determining the elemental composition of a material and the thickness of coatings. When a sample is irradiated with X-rays, each element emits fluorescence with a characteristic energy; the detector records it and the software calculates the alloy composition (e.g. gold fineness) or the coating thickness. The measurement does not touch or damage the sample, needs no chemical preparation and takes from a few seconds to a few minutes.\r\nHelmut Fischer XRF instruments are designed for jewellers, pawnshops, precious metal traders and refiners, electroplating companies (coating thickness, metal concentration in baths), electronics and printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing, the semiconductor industry, testing laboratories and RoHS screening.\r\nHow to choose:\r\n\r\nDetector. Proportional counter (PC) \u2013 fast, more affordable, suitable for thicker electroplated coatings; Si-PIN \u2013 entry level for alloy analysis; silicon drift detector (SDD, 20 or 50 mm\u00b2) \u2013 high resolution, the thinnest coatings, trace analysis, RoHS.\r\nBenchtop or handheld. Benchtop instruments are fully protected, type-approved devices for the laboratory and production; the handheld XAN 500 is for large parts and field conditions.\r\nMeasuring chamber size: sample height from 90 to 170 mm, PCB stages up to 610 \u00d7 610 mm, modular chambers up to 1.5 m\u00b3.\r\nMeasuring direction: bottom-up (fast positioning) or top-down (automated series, programmable XY stage).\r\nSoftware: WinFTM or the new FISIQ X (XDAL \/ XDV generation).\r\n\r\nIn your enquiry please state: the materials and coating systems to be measured (e.g. Au\/Ni\/Cu), the expected thickness range, sample dimensions and shape, the smallest structure to be measured, the required throughput (pcs\/h), and whether you need automation, RoHS or alloy analysis.","link":"https:\/\/m-technologijos.lt\/en\/equipment\/metal-gold-analysis-xrf\/","name":"Metal and Gold Analysis (XRF)","slug":"metal-gold-analysis-xrf","taxonomy":"category","parent":0,"meta":[],"z_taxonomy_image_url":"https:\/\/m-technologijos.lt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/csm_0_0_1715be5ff6-1.png","_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/m-technologijos.lt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories\/201","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/m-technologijos.lt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/m-technologijos.lt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/taxonomies\/category"}],"wp:post_type":[{"href":"https:\/\/m-technologijos.lt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts?categories=201"},{"href":"https:\/\/m-technologijos.lt\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/products?categories=201"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
